CERT-Hungary

At the initiative of the Foundation preparations have been made to participate in the international network of CERT’s (Computer Emergency Response Team).

CERT units focus on Internet security worldwide, and the Foundation is ready to join them with a high level of preparedness and cooperation. The prime objective of the Foundation is to provide reliable protection for the computer systems of the Government and the public sector, as well as businesses operating critical infrastructure.

Building on the preparatory work of the International Technology Company for Public Benefit, the Foundation is to launch the operation of CERT HUNGARY in the fall of 2004 with the generous support of the Ministry of Informatics and Communications, in line with the aforementioned objectives. In its practice CERT HUNGARY closely cooperates with HunCERT, which has been functioning within the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA-SZTAKI) and has been enjoying the support of the Internet Service Providers’ Society (ISZT) for years.
